VMware Exam 5V0-31.23 Topic 4 Question 6 Discussion

Actual exam question for VMware's 5V0-31.23 exam
Question #: 6
Topic #: 4
[All 5V0-31.23 Questions]

An administrator has been tasked with increasing the available capacity within an existing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment to support the deployment of production workloads. The VCF environment consists of a single VI Workload Domain (which is using vSphere Lifecycle Manager images as the update method) with only a single vSAN Cluster called Prod-01. Two new hosts have been added to SDDC Manager inventory for the capacity expansion. The new hosts have identically configured CPU and RAM to the hosts in Prod-01. VMFS on FC is the required principal storage option.

Which process must the administrator complete to increase the available capacity without the need for additional management components?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

Since the goal is to increase capacity in the existing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment without adding new management components, the most straightforward approach is to expand the existing Prod-01 cluster by adding the additional hosts. This approach will incorporate the new hosts into the existing VI Workload Domain and vSAN cluster without needing to create new clusters or workload domains.

D is definitely the way to go. The new hosts have the same specs as the existing ones, so it's a no-brainer to just add them to the Prod-01 cluster.

Haha, option B is just ridiculous. Who would create a new workload domain just to add a couple of hosts? That's like buying a whole new house just to add an extra room.

I agree, expanding the existing cluster is the logical step. No need to overcomplicate things by creating a new cluster or domain.

It makes sense to keep everything within the same VI Workload Domain.

I'm not sure, but creating a new vSphere Cluster within the existing VI Workload Domain also sounds like a viable option.

Option D seems to be the correct answer. Expanding the existing cluster is the way to go, rather than creating a new one.

Yes, that way we can increase capacity without adding extra management components.

It makes sense to add the new hosts to the current cluster instead of creating a new one.

Yes, adding the new hosts to the existing Prod-01 cluster is the way to go. It maintains the current setup and increases capacity.

I agree, creating a new cluster would add unnecessary complexity. Expanding Prod-01 makes the most sense.

I think option D is the best choice. It's more efficient to expand the existing cluster.
