An all-flash vSAN cluster contains four nodes.

Which two storage policies can the cluster satisfy? (Choose two.)

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C, D

An all-flash vSAN cluster contains a sufficient number of capacity devices and cache devices to support different RAID levels.

FTT=3(RAID-1 Mirroring) - This policy requires at least 4 capacity devices, where each object is mirrored across three copies of the object. This can be satisfied by the 4 nodes all-flash vSAN cluster.

FTT=1 (RAID-1 Mirroring) - This policy requires at least 2 capacity devices, where each object is mirrored across one copy of the object. This can be satisfied by the 4 nodes all-flash vSAN cluster.

FTT=2 (RAID-6 Erasure Coding) - This policy requires at least 6 capacity devices, where each object is striped across two sets of parity and data. This cannot be satisfied by the 4 nodes all-flash vSAN cluster.

FTT=1 (RAID-5 Erasure Coding) - vSAN does not support RAID-5 Erasure coding.

I think RAID-6 Erasure Coding can provide redundancy for FTT=2 with four nodes.

I'm not sure about RAID-6 Erasure Coding for FTT=2, can someone explain?

That makes sense, with four nodes in the all-flash vSAN cluster.

I believe it can also satisfy FTT=1 with RAID-1 Mirroring.

I think the cluster can satisfy FTT=2 with RAID-1 Mirroring.

I think FTT=1 with RAID-5 Erasure Coding seems like a viable option for this cluster as well.

I'm not sure about RAID-6 Erasure Coding, but FTT=1 with RAID-1 Mirroring should definitely work in this scenario.

What about FTT=2 with RAID-6 Erasure Coding? Can that be satisfied in this cluster?

I agree, FTT=2 with RAID-1 Mirroring is a good choice for redundancy in this setup.

I think with four nodes in an all-flash vSAN cluster, FTT=2 (RAID-1 Mirroring) can be satisfied.
