Topic #: 9

What are two methods for renaming a field in a visualization? Choose two.

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A, B

In Tableau, you can rename a field directly in the Data pane by clicking and holding on the field name until it becomes editable, allowing you to type a new name. Alternatively, you can use the drop-down menu associated with the field in the Data pane and select the 'Rename' option. Both methods provide a quick and easy way to change the name of a field without affecting the underlying data structure. The 'Format menu' and 'Replace Reference' option do not apply to renaming fields.

I'm just going to go with A and B. Seems like the other options are a bit... off the wall. Although, I do like the idea of renaming fields by shouting at the computer. 'Hey, you! Change this field name, pronto!'

Okay, okay, I got this. A for clicking and dragging, B for the dropdown menu. Easy peasy, right? Wait, what do you mean there's a 'Replace Reference' option? Is that some kind of black magic or something?

Haha, I bet the test writers threw in those other options just to trip people up. Who even uses the 'Format' menu for renaming fields? Amateurs!

I agree with the first candidate. A and B are the way to go. C and D sound like they might do something else entirely.

I've never tried using the Format menu or right-clicking to rename a field. A and B seem like the best options.

Yeah, that's the easiest way to do it. I also use the drop-down menu to rename fields.

A and B are definitely the right answers here. Renaming fields is a basic task in data visualization, and those are the two most straightforward methods.
