If you were to read in a publication that an IT organization could build software at a rate of 4 lines of code per programmer hour, but in your organization you can only write 2 lines of code per programmer hour, what conclusion could you draw?
Outsourcing, huh? Not a chance! My boss would rather chew off his own arm than let someone else touch our code. Looks like we're stuck with option E and hiring more experienced programmers. Good luck with that budget proposal!
Hold on, does the publication even define what counts as a 'line of code'? Maybe my team is working on more complex projects that require fewer lines. I'm going with option C - there's no accepted standard here.
Well, if my organization is only doing 2 lines per hour, that means we're half as efficient as the publication claims. Guess we need to get our act together and hire some real coding wizards.
Hah, 4 lines of code per hour? I bet the authors were just making that up to make their organization look good. My team writes code at a snail's pace, but at least it works!
