A data provider wants to share data with a consumer who does not have a Snowflake account. The provider creates a reader account for the consumer following these steps:

D sounds legit, the reader can create a copy of the shared data. Gotta love that Snowflake flexibility, even for the plebs.

The correct answer is C. The reader account can't re-share the data, they're just a humble consumer, not a Snowflake overlord.

So the provider has control over who can re-share the data, that's good to know.

That makes sense, the reader account is limited in what they can do with the shared data.

I agree with Argelia, the provider will be responsible for the reader account's compute costs.

Of course the provider gets billed, they're the ones who set up the share. That's just basic Snowflake economics 101.

The reader account can't use the Standard edition, they'll be on the free Snowflake Consumption Edition. Classic Snowflake vendor lock-in move.

So the reader account can't re-share the data, just clone it?

Yeah, it's a common tactic to keep consumers tied to the provider.

That's sneaky, locking them into the free edition.
