I prefer D) Detailed top-down estimates by the Scrum Master in story points or Ideal Person Days for accurate planning.

I think B) Detailed bottom-up estimates that break each User Story into shorter tasks is the best approach.

I disagree, I believe the answer is C) Relative estimates in Ideal Person Days that reflect the best estimates provided by the project team.

C is the clear winner here. Letting the team provide their best estimates keeps everyone invested in the process. Plus, it's way more fun than crunching numbers all day.

I'm going to have to agree with C. Anything that involves the Scrum Master making all the decisions sounds like a recipe for disaster. Give the team a voice!

I'd have to go with C as well. BotKaran-up estimates can get too granular for Agile, and we don't want the Scrum Master calling all the shots.

C) Relative estimates in Ideal Person Days that reflect the best estimates provided by the project team seems like the way to go. Agile is all about collaboration, not top-down micromanagement.
