What a strange question. Why would you ever want to hide filters from the end user? That just sounds like a recipe for confusion and frustration. I'll go with C, I guess.
Option B seems the most logical choice here. The Transparent Filter property lets you apply filters without exposing them to the end user, which can be really useful for optimization.
