Salesforce Exam CRT-101 Topic 1 Question 81 Discussion

Actual exam question for Salesforce's CRT-101 exam
Question #: 81
Topic #: 1
[All CRT-101 Questions]

Cloud Kicks (CK) captures whether an opportunity should be reviewed by someone in product engineering with a checkbox field called Needs Review. CK also has a picklist field on the opportunity for Product Type. When a sales rep saves an opportunity, they need to select the Product Type or check the Needs Review box.

What should an administrator use to accomplish this?

I agree with Patti, a Validation rule is the best option to ensure data integrity in this case.

Hey, at least the Needs Review checkbox gives them a way out, right? Better than being stuck with a required field they don't want to fill out.

A before-save flow? Really? That's overkill for this use case. Just stick with the validation rule and call it a day.

Required fields could work too, but a validation rule is more specific.

Yeah, no need to complicate things with a before-save flow.

I see your point, Lewis. But I think a Validation rule is more straightforward and easier to set up.

Hmm, I'm torn between the validation rule and the workflow rule. Both could work, but the workflow rule might give you a bit more flexibility down the line.

But wouldn't a Before Save flow also work in this scenario?

I'd go with the required fields option. That way, the sales reps can't even save the opportunity without selecting the Product Type or checking the Needs Review box.

Agreed, that would make sure they can't save without selecting the necessary options.

I agree with Patti, a Validation rule makes sense to ensure the Product Type is selected or Needs Review is checked.

The validation rule seems like the obvious choice here. It's a simple way to ensure the fields are properly filled out.
