I'm going with Option B. It just sounds more straightforward to me, even if it's not the 'correct' answer.

Haha, I bet the admin at Northern Trail Outfitters is like, 'Wait, which field sets do I use again?' This CPQ stuff can get pretty complicated.

D) Create two field sets on the Quote Line object representing each profile, and create a test formula field sets with the API named EditLinesFieldSetname on the Quote object that returns the appropriate field set name based on the user's profile.

Option D seems to be the correct answer. Creating field sets on the Quote Line object and using a formula field on the Quote object to determine the appropriate field set is the way to go.

I'm not sure about option A. I think option C might also work because it involves creating field sets on the Quote Line object. It could be worth considering as well.

I agree with Francine. Option A seems like the most logical choice for configuring CPQ to show the desired fields in the Quote Line Editor.

I'm not sure why we need to create a formula field on the Quote object. Shouldn't we just be able to use the field sets directly in the Quote Line Editor?

C) Creating field sets on the Quote Line object could also work, as long as it accurately reflects the different profiles.

A) That's a good point, but the formula field might be necessary to dynamically determine which field set to display based on the user's profile.

I think option A is the correct one. It makes sense to create field sets on the Quote object and use a formula field to determine which fields to display based on the user's profile.

Option C is the correct answer. Creating field sets on the Quote Line object and using a formula field on the Quote object to determine the appropriate field set based on the user's profile is the right approach here.
