I think we should escalate the issue to the customer and get their approval before starting the design of item B.

It's true, but we need to consider the risk of impacting the first iteration even more.

But what if starting the design of item B can actually help speed up the second iteration?

Hmm, I'm not so sure. Option B does seem tempting, especially if we're already behind schedule. But I agree, we need to be careful about scope creep. Maybe we could compromise and do a bit of preliminary design on item B, just to get a head start, but not fully commit to it until the second iteration?

You know, I was just thinking the same thing. Deferring the design of item B is probably the safest bet. We don't want to end up in a situation where we're trying to cram too much in and end up with a subpar product.

You're right, focusing on item A first before moving on to B makes sense.

I agree, this is a tough one. On the one hand, we want to try and stay on schedule, but on the other, we don't want to risk the quality of the deliverables. Maybe we should consider option A and defer the design of item B until the second iteration is being planned.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. I can see the logic behind starting the design of item B early to try and catch up, but I'm not sure that's the best approach. We need to be careful about scope creep and making sure we don't overcommit ourselves.
