Hmm, I'm not sure I'd trust a setup that can't handle 4,000 home directories and a departmental share. Seems like a classic case of 'underpowered and undercooked' to me.

I agree with the previous comment. The RAM and vCPU might be a bit tight, especially with everyone accessing the departmental share. I'd go for the higher-spec option just to be safe.

The configuration seems to be on the right track, but I'm not sure if the RAM and vCPU allocations are sufficient for 4,000 home directories and a departmental share. Maybe we need a bit more horsepower.
