Actual exam question for Nutanix's Nutanix Certified Associate v6.5 exam
Question #: 23
Topic #: 2
[All Nutanix Certified Associate v6.5 Questions]

User are complaining that web application hosted on a Nutanix cluster are running slow. After reviewing the performance metric, it is determined that the CPU Ready time is high in the cluster.

What entity is impacted by CPU ready time?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

The oplog is a critical component of the Nutanix distributed storage fabric and can be impacted by high CPU Ready time. When the CPU Ready time is high, there can be delays in writing data to the oplog, resulting in slower overall cluster performance. Additionally, high CPU Ready time can also lead to increased write amplification, further reducing I/O performance.

High CPU ready time, huh? Sounds like the VMs are just taking a coffee break and not wanting to get back to work. Maybe we should threaten to take away their snack breaks if they don't start pulling their weight!

The Oplog? Really? I mean, unless this is a MongoDB-based app, I don't see how the Oplog would be the culprit here. Seems like a bit of a stretch, if you ask me.

Nah, it's gotta be the NIC. If the network's bottlenecked, that's gonna cause all sorts of performance issues. I bet those users are just waiting for their data to get from point A to point B.

Wait, is it the vDisks? I mean, if the CPU can't keep up, the virtual disks might be struggling to keep up with I/O requests, right? That could definitely slow things down.

But could it also be the vDisk that is impacted?

I agree with Pearlie, VM performance can be affected if CPU ready time is high.

Hmm, CPU Ready time, that's gotta be the VMs, right? I mean, they're the ones actually running the applications, so they're the ones that would be impacted by high CPU ready time.

I think the VM is impacted by CPU ready time.
