I think the correct answer is A) PIR = 4 Mbps, CIR = 1 Mbps because it matches the given scheduler-policy parameters.

Ah, got it. Okay, let me think this through. If the offered rate is 10 Mbps and the scheduler-policy parameters are as shown, then I think the answer might be D) PIR = 5 Mbps, CIR = 5 Mbps.

PIR is the Peak Information Rate, and CIR is the Committed Information Rate. They're basically the maximum and guaranteed bandwidth for a queue, respectively.

I think so. But, uh, what exactly are PIR and CIR again? I'm drawing a blank here.

Hmm, let me see. Okay, so the offered rate for each queue is 10 Mbps, and the scheduler-policy parameters are shown in the image. I'm guessing we need to use those to calculate the PIR and CIR for queue 1, right?

Yeah, me neither. I think we need to really analyze that image carefully and try to break down the different parameters. This is going to require some serious thought.

Wow, this question looks really tricky. I'm not sure I fully understand the scheduler-policy parameters and how they impact the PIR and CIR for queue 1.
