Microsoft AZ-104 Exam - Topic 8 Question 1 Discussion

Actual exam question for Microsoft's AZ-104 exam
Question #: 1
Topic #: 8
[All AZ-104 Questions]

You have Azure virtual machines that run Windows Server 2019 and are configured as shown in the following table.

You create a public Azure DNS zone named adatum.com and a private Azure DNS zone named contoso.com.

For contoso.com, you create a virtual network link named link1 as shown in the exhibit. (Click the Exhibit tab.)

You discover that VM1 can resolve names in contoso.com but cannot resolve names in adatum.com. VM1 can resolve other hosts on the internet.

You need to ensure that VM1 can resolve host names in adatum.com.

What should you do?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

Adatum.com is a public DNS zone. The Internet top level domain DNS servers need to know which DNS servers to direct DNS queries for adatum.com to. You configure this by configuring the name servers for adatum.com at the domain registrar.

SRV records? Not sure that’s necessary here.

Just update the DNS suffix on VM1, right?

Wait, why would you need to modify IAM settings for link1? Seems off.

VM1 can resolve contoso.com but not adatum.com, interesting.

I don't think modifying IAM settings for link1 would help with DNS resolution. It seems unrelated to the issue VM1 is facing.

This question feels similar to one we practiced where we had to configure DNS settings for VMs. I think creating an SRV record might not be necessary here.

I remember something about DNS suffixes, but I'm not sure if updating it to adatum.com is the right move.

I vaguely recall that configuring name servers at the domain registrar is crucial for public DNS resolution. Could that be the answer?

I've got this one! The /etc/fstab file follows a specific format: device name, mount point, filesystem type, mount options, dump filesystem, and fsck order. I'm sure about that.

I'm a bit confused by this question. I know partitioning is important for system management, but I'm not sure which directories are typically separated. I'll have to review my notes and try to reason through this.

I'm a bit confused on this one. I'm not sure if a badge or CCTV would be effective in a completely dark room. I'll have to review the options more closely.

I think enabling point-in-time recovery is more about backups than replication. So that option doesn't sound correct for this scenario.
