Hey, at least it's not a problem with the slot itself. That would be a real head-scratcher. But this sounds like a classic case of a faulty interface card. Time to break out the toolbox!
Hmm, my money's on option C. The pin on the backplane or motherboard sounds like the most likely culprit. I bet someone forgot to double-check the installation.
C'mon, a ADSL telephone line failure? Really? That's like blaming the printer for a computer crash. This is clearly a hardware issue, not a connectivity problem.
