C) The pin on the backplane or motherboard is damaged. If the incorrect board is installed, the pin is tilted. Yep, that's the one. Gotta love it when hardware decides to play a game of Jenga with us.
Wait, ADSL telephone line failure? Seriously? That's about as relevant as a penguin in a desert. I think we all know the real issue here is a busted interface card.
B) interface card is damaged. No doubt about it. I've seen these things go kaput more times than I can count. Time to swap it out and get that Slot3 back in action!
Hmm, looks like a case of a faulty interface card to me. Probably a manufacturing defect or a bit of rough handling during installation. Happens to the best of us.
