I believe the issue might be related to the fact that the RP is statically configured while RTA is not.

I agree with that could cause RTB to fail the RPF check of the source.

I think the reason could be that there is no unicast route from RTB to RTA.

That could also be a reason. If the RP is not configured correctly on RTA, then it might not be able to see the multicast source.

But what about option D) The RP is statically configured on the multicast network, while the RTA router is not statically configured with the RP?
