HP Exam HPE2-W09 Topic 1 Question 56 Discussion

Actual exam question for HP's HPE2-W09 exam
Question #: 56
Topic #: 1
[All HPE2-W09 Questions]

Switch-1 and Switch-2 are AruDaOS-CX switches, which are part of a Virtual Switching Extension (VSX) fabric. Switch-2 is the primary member. Switch-2 experiences a power failure while Switch-1 remains up. Switch-2's power recovers, and Switch-2 reboots.

Is this one of the things that happens when Switch-2 finishes booting?

Solution: Switch-2 wails a period called the link-up delay before it enables Switched Virtual Interfaces (SVls) on its VSX LAGs.

I think if split-recovery is enabled, the switches would be able to recover from failures quickly without needing the delay timer.

But what if split-recovery is enabled? Would the link-up delay timer be required then?

I agree, if split-recovery is disabled, then the link-up delay timer is not needed.

No, I think the link-up delay should be configured regardless of split-recovery status.

I agree, it makes sense to configure the link-up delay settings based on split-recovery.

Haha, yeah, it's like they're daring us to admit we don't know everything about every Aruba networking feature. I'm just going to do my best and hope for the best!

You know, I bet the exam writers are just trying to trip us up with these super specific questions. They probably want to see how well we can apply our networking knowledge to these edge cases.

Hmm, I'm not too familiar with Virtual Switching Extension (V5X) fabrics. This is a pretty niche topic. I hope I don't get stumped by too many obscure networking questions on the exam.

I agree with Leana. The solution provides a clear explanation, so B) No seems like the right answer here.

The solution says the link-up delay timer is only required when split-recovery is disabled. So I guess that means the answer is B) No, it's not a guideline in this case.

I'm not sure about this question. It seems pretty technical and specific. I hope the exam doesn't have too many questions like this one.
