As long as the servers stay up, I don't care if the appliance is highly available. Just make sure my VMs are running! *laughs* But seriously, C is the way to go.

D is a bit vague. 'Proprietary HA mode' doesn't give me a clear idea of what that entails. I'd stick with the more standard HA solution mentioned in C.
