Your company's mission-critical, globally available application is supported by a Cloud Spanner database. I think roles/spanner.viewer could also be a good choice for new users. It provides read-only access without the ability to make changes.

I agree with Linsey. roles/spanner.databaseUser makes sense because it allows read and write access for new users.

I disagree with Katie. I believe roles/spanner.databaseUser would be more appropriate for new users.

I think we should assign roles/spanner.databaseReader to new users for read-only access.

Ha, roles/spanner.backupWriter? That's a good one. I can just imagine these new users trying to back up the entire database and accidentally deleting everything. Let's stick to the simple and straightforward option here.

Yeah, A) roles/spanner.databaseReader sounds like the right choice. It's a bit puzzling that they included the other options, like roles/spanner.databaseUser and roles/spanner.backupWriter, since those seem to grant more permissions than we need for these new users.

I agree, the question is pretty straightforward. Based on the options given, I think the correct answer is A) roles/spanner.databaseReader. This role allows users to read data from the database, which is exactly what we need for the new users.

Hmm, this is an interesting question. From the information provided, it seems like we need to assign a role to new users that will give them read-only access to the Cloud Spanner database. The key here is that they need to be able to read data, but not write or modify it.
