A system administrator wants to integrate FortiAuthenticator with an existing identity management system with the goal of authenticating and deauthenticating users into FSSO.

What feature does FortiAuthenticator offer for this type of integration?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

Online activation of the tokens through the FortiGuard network is the most secure way of delivering FortiToken data once the token has been seeded because it eliminates the risk of seed files being compromised during transit or storage. The other methods involve physical or manual delivery of seed files which can be intercepted, lost, or stolen. The REST API is the way to go here. It's like a superhighway for integrating different systems, while the other options are more like dirt roads. But hey, at least the SNMP traps can let you know when the integration is working... or not.

I hope the system administrator isn't trying to use the SNMP monitoring feature to authenticate users. That would be like trying to use a hammer to open a can of beans – it just doesn't make sense!

While the other options like CSV import/export and RADIUS learning mode might be useful in other scenarios, the REST API is the clear winner here. It's the only feature that would allow for seamless integration with an existing identity management system.

I'm not too familiar with FortiAuthenticator, but the REST API sounds like the most flexible and powerful option for this kind of integration. It would allow the system administrator to build custom scripts and workflows.
