I wonder if the administrator can set the host name to 'Iron Man' and then pretend to be Tony Stark while configuring the BIG-IP. That would be a pretty funny approach.

I'm still a bit confused about how the host name works in a redundant pair setup. Isn't the self-IP address more important for communication between the systems?

Option B makes the most sense to me. The host name is supposed to be the same between the two systems in a redundant pair, right? That's how they stay in sync.

I think option C makes sense too. The self-IP addresses could get assigned incorrectly if the host names are the same.

I'm pretty sure the host name doesn't matter in a redundant pair. The systems should be able to communicate regardless of the host name setting.

Option D seems to be the correct answer. The host name is used to access the configuration utility, so it should connect to the active system in the redundant pair.

So, setting the same host name for both systems would ensure access to the active system.

I agree with you, Doug. It might lead to issues with accessing the configuration utility.

I think setting the same host name for both systems in a redundant pair could cause confusion.
