I think the Scrum Master should teach the managers how to read the Scrum board and understand the progress of the teams. That way, they can still feel like they're in the loop without micromanaging.

I agree, the managers need to let go of control and trust the Scrum teams. The Scrum Master should focus on explaining the Agile mindset and how it's different from traditional management approaches.
