In Docker Trusted Registry, is this how a user can prevent an image, such as 'nginx:latest', from being overwritten by another user with push access to the repository?
Wait, so I can't just push a new 'nginx:latest' and overwrite the old one? What is this, amateur hour? Time to break out the Docker daemon's private key and have some fun.
Hmm, 'immutable' tag, huh? Sounds like a great way to lock down your critical images. Just hope no one tries to 'rm -rf /' the registry server by accident.
Nah, that's not gonna work. The 'immutable' tag is just a suggestion, not an actual enforcement. Anyone with push access can still overwrite the image if they really want to.
Tagging an image as 'immutable' is a pretty smart way to prevent it from being overwritten. Kudos to the Docker Trusted Registry team for coming up with this feature!
