A company plans to implement SRDF/Star. It is currently using SRDF/S between their two data centers. It is setting up a third data center and wants to have at least two identical copies of its data in case of a primary site failure.

What condition is needed for the connection between the first two sites and the third site?

Suggested Answer: C

A company plans to implement SRDF/Star, which is a three-site replication solution that provides continuous data protection and disaster recovery capabilities. It is currently using SRDF/S between their two data centers, which are located within 200 kilometers and use synchronous replication. It is setting up a third data center and wants to have at least two identical copies of its data in case of a primary site failure. The third site can be located anywhere in the world and use asynchronous replication. The condition that is needed for the connection between the first two sites and the third site is that the link must be able to transport the delta set of the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) within the company's Recovery Time Objective (RTO). The delta set is the amount of data that has changed since the last successful replication cycle. The RPO is the maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time. The RTO is the maximum acceptable amount of time to restore normal operations after a disaster. The link must have enough bandwidth and latency to ensure that the delta set can be transferred within the RTO without exceeding the RPO.

C is the way to go, for sure. Though I have to say, if I was in charge of this, I'd be tempted to just go with the 'teleport the data instantly' option. That's got to be the most reliable, right?

I'm going to have to agree with C. The key is being able to maintain the RPO, not just having a fast link. Though I do wonder if the exam writers are just trying to trip us up with those other options.

Well, this is a tricky one. I was tempted to go with D, but C makes more sense since it's specifically about the data transfer requirements. Good thing I'm not the one who has to set this up!

Yeah, D might sound tempting, but C is more specific to the situation described in the question.

I agree, C seems to be the most relevant option for ensuring the data transfer requirements are met.

I think C is the correct answer because it mentions transporting the delta set of the RPO within the company's RTO.

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. The distance and latency requirements seem a bit arbitrary, so I'm going to go with C as well.

I agree, C seems like the most logical choice for ensuring data replication between the three data centers.

Yeah, I agree. That seems like the most important requirement for the connection between the data centers.

I think the answer is C. The link needs to be able to transport the delta set of the RPO within the company's RTO, not just have a certain latency or distance requirement.

I think you're right, it's important for the connection to meet that requirement.
