A systems administrator is responsible for the operations of 20 XtremlO X1 clusters; each are using a standalone XMS server. The administrator wants to consolidate management operations to the minimum number of XMS servers as possible.

What is the smallest number of XMS servers that can support the environment?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

A single XtremIO Management Server (XMS) can manage up to 8 X-Brick clusters.

For 20 XtremIO X1 clusters, the smallest number of XMS servers required to support the environment is 4.

Consolidating management operations to the minimum number of XMS servers helps in simplifying administration and monitoring tasks.

Well, with 20 clusters, having 3 XMS servers would allow for better load distribution and redundancy compared to just 2 servers.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I'm gonna go with C. 3 XMS servers. Seems like the perfect balance between redundancy and cost-effectiveness. Though I'm still trying to figure out how many coffee machines I can fit in those servers. You know, for the late-night admin sessions.

The answer is obviously A. 2 XMS servers. Anything more would be overkill, and anything less would be cutting it too close. I mean, who needs more than two servers to manage 20 clusters? Not this guy!

Why do you think it's 3? Can you explain your rationale?

D. 1 XMS server. Come on, it's a no-brainer! Why waste resources on multiple servers when you can just use a single, powerful XMS server to manage everything? Efficiency at its finest!

I'm going with C. 3 XMS servers. Seems like the most efficient way to consolidate the management operations while still providing enough redundancy and scalability.

I think the answer is B. 4 XMS servers should be able to handle the 20 XtremlO X1 clusters without any issues. That's a pretty straightforward consolidation scenario.
