Confluent Exam CCDAK Topic 3 Question 65 Discussion

Actual exam question for Confluent's CCDAK exam
Question #: 65
Topic #: 3
[All CCDAK Questions]

How will you set the retention for the topic named my-topic to 1 hour?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

retention.ms can be configured at topic level while creating topic or by altering topic. It shouldn't be set at the broker level (log.retention.ms) as this would impact all the topics in the cluster, not just the one we are interested in

Option C, easy peasy. I'm starting to think the exam writers are running out of creative ideas. Come on, give us something more challenging!

C is the clear winner here. Unless, of course, the question is a trap and the answer is actually 'All of the above' - you know, just to keep us on our toes!

I'm going with C. After all, it's the topic, not the broker, consumer, or producer, that we need to set the retention for.

I think C is the correct option. We need to set the retention for the topic itself.

C is the answer, no doubt. Although, I wonder if the exam question is trying to trick us with all those other config options. Kafka sure loves its configs!

I'm not sure, but I think setting the broker config log.retention.ms to 3600000 could also work.
