I'm with you all on this one. NFC is the clear choice. Although I do wonder if any of the other options might work in a pinch, like using Bluetooth to pair a device for payments. But NFC is definitely the way to go.

Agreed, NFC is the way to go. Wi-Fi, IR, and Bluetooth aren't even close to being the right technologies for this use case. NFC is designed specifically for those quick, contactless payments.

This is a pretty straightforward question. The technology the customer is looking for is clearly NFC (Near Field Communication). That's the standard for tap-to-pay transactions.
