Hmm, I don't know. They all sound pretty good to me. I guess I'd have to go with D as well, though. It just seems a bit too specific and targeted compared to the other responses. Plus, I'm always a bit skeptical of anything that claims to 'overcome cultural challenges' in IT. Good luck with that!
Well, I think the correct answer is D. That last response just doesn't seem to align with the goals of SOA that the other managers described. Introducing 'proven bridging and transformation technologies' to overcome ownership issues? Sounds like a band-aid solution to me.
A) SOA will help us increase the responsiveness of the organization as a whole. When our business encounters change, our IT department will be able to adapt and respond to this change more efficiently and effectively than before.
I'm not sure about the correct answer here. The responses all seem to make sense, but I'm a bit skeptical about that last one. Overcoming cultural challenges with EAI platforms? That sounds like a stretch to me.
C) SOA will help us streamline our IT enterprise. Our goal, ultimately, is to turn the IT department into a part of the organization that provides increased value to the business while reducing its overall burden.
B) SOA will help us increase the amount of value we get from the software programs we build as reusable services. Over time, this will allow us to improve the cost-effectiveness of IT as a whole.
