The group property sounds like the right call to me. After all, what's the point of having a reward card if you can't even see your own customer info? Talk about a reward for doing nothing!

Hmm, I'm leaning towards option B. Setting the system property to true seems like the logical solution to make the customer attribute available in the template. Who doesn't love a little 'true' magic?

I'm not so sure about that. I think the scope property with a value of global might be the better choice here. That way, the customer attribute can be accessed across the entire application.

Option A looks good to me. Adding the group property with a value of 1 should fix the issue with the customer attribute not being available in the My account/My rewards page template.
